An event known as the Potato Famine of 1845-1852, stirred an Irish cultural movement which led an influx of Irish immigrants north of Wallabout Bay, Brooklyn. The Celtic knot symbol, also referred to as the mystic knot; eludes to the spiritual meaning of beginnings and endings. Upon viewing the know, one cannot see a beginning or an end, and therefore we are reminded of the timeless nature of our spirit.
