An event known as the Potato Famine of 1845-1852, stirred an Irish cultural movement which led an influx of Irish immigrants north of Wallabout Bay, Brooklyn. The Celtic knot symbol, also referred to as the mystic knot; eludes to the spiritual meaning of beginnings and endings.
